This is a great route for those just getting started. The campground offers some basic amenities, and the route is quickly traveled as it’s mostly paved. Other than needing enough fitness to climb nearly 5 thousand feet of elevation between two days, this is a great beginner route. The lake also offers a good hike around the perimeter of the lake.

Camp Description: Campground
This is a developed campground with a site fee and local campground host. Firewood ring, picnic tables, water, and leveled tent spaces at each site. The campground offers some shade and can be exposed to wind.
Food/Water Resources:
Limited food and water resources along the route. Parker Canyon Lake has a small convenience store with limited hours and the campground offers water from faucets around the sites.
Bike Recommendation:
This route can easily be done on any bike able to fit a 35mm tire or wider. Wider being the recommendation of course. The route is nearly 16% unpaved, with the occasional steep grades around West Gate on Base and at Parker Canyon Lake. As always, we recommend tubeless tires, and appropriate drivetrain gearing for climbing steep grades with a loaded bike.
